We update our blog every Tuesday and Thursday, but we want to make a special posting today about the return of Mad Men. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the show, here is how AMC describes it, “Set in 1960s New York, the sexy, stylized and provocative AMC drama Mad Men follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising, an ego-driven world where key players make an art of the sell.”
Regardless of wether or not you enjoy the show’s content, it’s easy to fall in love with the shows costume design. The clothing that the characters wear are have that 1960s timeless feeling. And fashion designers have taken notice of the show’s popularity which has influenced their lines.
Banana Republic launched a Mad Men line inspired by 1960s clothing, and Etsy has popular searches for Mad Men dresses, which popped up as I began typing Mad. At Rubber Soul Vintage in San Diego, you can also find clothing from the 1960s.
Be sure to catch the 2 hour season 5 premiere tomorrow at 9:00 p.m./ 8:00 p.m. central time on AMC. Or if nothing else, be sure to read about the fashion the next day!
