The Times They Are A-Changing (and the Sizes Are Too)

Dressing Rooms Sign at Rubber Soul

Did you know that Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962) was a size 12 back in her day? But in modern American sizing, she would be 4-6 sizes slimmer, because people and sizes changed a lot in the mid to late 20th century.

Yet, so many thrift stores and vintage stores, that sell vintage clothing, don’t have dressing rooms. Customers are often forced to eyeball a size and hope for the best.

But at Rubber Soul Vintage, we want you to be confident in your purchase. That’s why we have a fitting room in our store, so you can have the “love at first sight” moment but also try it on. So as Bob Dylan reminds us, “the times they are a-changing,” don’t be discouraged that the sizes are too.
